The Frontiers of Flight Museum is a thrill for little airplane fans, and it does a great job of explaining the role the Dallas/Fort Worth area has played in the unfolding global aviation story, from the Wright Brothers to space exploration.
The Nasher Sculpture Center is a testament to Ray Nasher’s idea of creating an outdoor “roofless” museum to serve as a public home for his collection of 20th-century sculpture.
Nestled in the midst of heavy-hitter cultural icons such as the Dallas Museum of Art and the Nasher Sculpture Center, the Crow Collection of Asian Art is right at home in the center of the Arts District in downtown Dallas.
The Dallas Museum of Art is one of those museums where families immediately feel at home. From the gentle incline (no stairs on the main floor, just an undulating corridor with art beckoning on all sides) to the spacious and packed-with-interesting-mementos gift shop, the museum seems to have families specifically in mind.
Kids can jump, bounce, climb, and slide at Pump It Up, the award-winning “inflatable party zone”. The climate-controlled arenas are filled with huge inflatable structures and provide a great space for birthday parties (which include private arena use, rather than just admission during public hours). Doors open at other times for Pop-In Playtimes and a variety of scheduled programs. Typically, parents are required to remain on-site while kids play.
A medieval adventure for all ages, Medieval Times is a fun-loving dinner experience you won’t soon forget! It’s perfectly appropriate for all ages and just the place if you are looking for a unique family outing. Children ages two and under can dine for free if they sit in a parent’s lap. You won’t find highchairs, but booster seats abound. While dining ringside, the audience is encouraged to cheer for the knights jousting in the arena.
Adventure Landing features both indoor and outdoor fun year-round with go-karts, miniature golf, an arcade, laser tag, outdoor batting cages, and a teddy bear factory.
