Covering the entire Bay Area, the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art was founded in the late 1980s and features very high quality art exhibitions and educational programs, with relevance to the many different people who populate the area. Machu Picchu Gallery of the Americas

The Machu Picchu Gallery of the Americas has a wonderful selection of artifacts from Central and South America and Mexico, as well as from North America. Also on permanent display are pre-Columbian and Old Indian exhibits, and several Latin American celebrations are enjoyed here throughout the year. Kaleid Gallery

KALEID (Greek for beauty and form) was borne out of San Jose’s Phantom Galleries (art in vacant storefronts & alternative spaces project) in December 2006. Over 60 fine artists and designers from the San Jose area make use of a 6,000 square foot retail space with individual exhibits that include painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, glass, jewelry and textile art. The artists range from young and emerging, to seasoned and well-accomplished. All art work is for sale and may be taken with you at the time of purchase.
